Setting the Standard at Synagenics: Our Research Peptide Quality Standards

Synagenics is committed to setting the standard in research peptide quality. Every lot is independently tested for purity and identity, every certificate is public, and every vial carries a lot number you can check. This page explains the principles behind that promise and how you can verify them yourself.

Our standard in one paragraph

A research peptide is only as good as the evidence behind it. Our standard is simple: if we cannot show you the data, we should not ask you to trust the product. That means a certificate for every lot, produced by an independent laboratory, published where anyone can read it and tied to the lot number on your vial. It also means being honest about what our products are. They are research-use-only materials for qualified laboratories, and we describe them only in laboratory terms.

Most suppliers say something similar. The difference is that ours can be checked. Open the Certificate of Analysis library, pick a compound and judge the report for yourself.

Six principles behind every lot

These are the commitments we measure ourselves against.

1. Document everything

Each lot is identified by a lot number and supported by analytical data, so any result can be traced to a specific material.

2. Test independently

Purity and identity are measured by third-party laboratories, which removes the conflict of interest in self-reported results.

3. Publish openly

Certificates are public. You do not have to create an account or ask permission to read them.

4. Show the raw evidence

Reports include the chromatogram and mass spectrum, not just a summary number.

5. Stay inside research use

We supply materials for laboratory research only and make no claims about people or animals.

6. Answer plainly

Technical questions get direct answers from a real person at support@synagenics.com.

What a Synagenics lot looks like from your side

You can follow the evidence trail for any vial in a few minutes.

Find the lot number

Every vial is labeled with a lot number. That number is the key to everything else.

Open the certificate

Search the public COA library by compound or lot number to find the matching report.

Read the chromatogram

Look for one dominant peak and a clean baseline, and note the method that produced it.

Check the mass

Compare the observed mass in the spectrum with the theoretical mass for the sequence.

Record it

Write the lot number and certificate reference in your notebook so your results stay traceable.

Independent testing, and why it matters

When the group that makes a product also tests it, the result is only as credible as the group’s incentives. Independent testing separates the two. A third-party laboratory has no stake in the outcome, uses its own instruments and issues a report under its own name.

For you as a researcher, that separation is practical protection. It means the purity value on the certificate can be compared with the value from any other supplier that uses the same kind of method, and it means the number was not produced by the party selling you the vial.

Independent testing is not a guarantee of perfection, and no honest supplier should claim otherwise. It is a safeguard that makes errors visible.

How our standard compares with a weak supplier

Use this table to judge any peptide supplier, including us.

EvidenceFull chromatogram and mass spectrum for each lot. A weak supplier offers a single purity number or a logo.
TestingIndependent third-party analysis. A weak supplier relies on self-reported results.
Lot matchingThe lot on the vial matches the lot on the report. A weak supplier reuses one report across many lots.
AccessCertificates are public and searchable. A weak supplier sends them only on request, or never.
ClaimsResearch-use language only. A weak supplier implies results in people.
SupportPlain technical answers from a person. A weak supplier answers with marketing copy.

What we will not do

  • We will not reuse a certificate across lots or present a report that does not match your vial.
  • We will not publish a purity number without the data that produced it.
  • We will not make claims about effects in people or animals.
  • We will not hide certificates behind a sales call or a form.
  • We will not describe our products as anything other than research-use-only materials.

If you ever find a gap between what we say and what the data shows, tell us at support@synagenics.com. We want to know.

Research use only is part of the standard

Quality is not only about chemistry. It also covers how a supplier describes its products. Synagenics sells peptides strictly for laboratory research, analytical work and in-vitro studies. They are not drugs, supplements or cosmetics, and they are not intended for human or animal use. These statements have not been evaluated by the US Food and Drug Administration.

That position shapes everything on this site. Our compound pages, such as GHK-Cu, Epitalon and Semax, describe chemistry, model systems and analytical documentation, and nothing else.

Learn how to evaluate any peptide

We would rather you were an informed buyer than a loyal one. Three resources explain how to judge peptide quality, whichever supplier you choose.

The real cost of a poor reagent

A bad vial rarely announces itself. It shows up weeks later as an experiment that will not repeat, a dose-response curve that does not make sense or a collaborator who cannot reproduce a result. By then the money spent on the peptide is the smallest part of the loss. The larger cost is the time, the cell stocks and the credibility that went into data nobody can trust.

Reproducibility problems in laboratory science have many causes, and reagent identity and purity are among the most avoidable. A peptide that is mislabeled, partly degraded or less pure than claimed is a hidden variable in every experiment that uses it. Our standard exists to remove that variable.

Documentation does not make a peptide better, but it makes problems visible. If a lot is off, a chromatogram and a mass spectrum will show it, and you can decide what to do before it contaminates a dataset.

What “research grade” should mean

The phrase is used loosely across the industry. We use it to mean a material that meets a defined set of criteria and can prove it.

Identity confirmedMass spectrometry shows the observed mass matches the intended sequence.
Purity measuredHPLC reports the share of the main peptide, and the chromatogram is available to read.
Lot-specificThe report belongs to the lot you received, not to a generic product.
Independently verifiedA third-party laboratory produced the data.
Honestly labeledThe material is described as research-use-only, with no claims about people or animals.

A buyer’s checklist for any peptide supplier

Run these ten checks before you buy from any company. They take about ten minutes and prevent most sourcing problems.

  1. Is the exact sequence or compound identity stated?
  2. Is the CAS number or molecular weight given where applicable?
  3. Can you see a certificate for the specific lot?
  4. Does the certificate include the full chromatogram?
  5. Does it include a mass spectrum?
  6. Is the testing laboratory independent and identified?
  7. Do the lot number and test date match your vial?
  8. Are reports for different lots genuinely different?
  9. Is the intended-use language limited to research?
  10. Will someone answer a technical question in plain terms?

A supplier that passes all ten has earned a trial order. One that fails several has not.

Key takeaways on our quality standard

  • Every lot is independently tested, documented and tied to a lot number on the vial.
  • Certificates are public and searchable with no account required.
  • Reports show the raw evidence, including the chromatogram and mass spectrum.
  • Products are described only as research-use-only materials for qualified laboratories.
  • You are encouraged to verify every claim in the COA library and to tell us if the data and the vial ever disagree.

Quality standards FAQ

What is the Synagenics quality standard?

Every lot is independently tested for purity and identity, supported by a public certificate of analysis and tied to a lot number printed on the vial.

Who tests Synagenics products?

Independent third-party laboratories perform the analysis, and the full report is published in the public COA library.

Can I read a certificate before I order?

Yes. Certificates are public at synagenics.com/coas/ and can be searched by compound name or lot number without an account.

Are Synagenics products for human or animal use?

No. They are research-use-only materials for qualified laboratory work and are not drugs, supplements or cosmetics.

What should I do if a certificate does not match my vial?

Email support@synagenics.com with the compound name and lot number on your vial and we will review it with you.

How do I judge any supplier’s quality?

Ask for the full chromatogram, the mass spectrum, the lot number and the testing laboratory, and confirm that the lot on the report matches your vial.

Verify the data behind every lot

Open the public COA library and read the certificate for yourself.
